Today in America I believe we are all feeling some anxiety.
We've watched masked men storming our cities, throwing women to the ground. Spraying protesters in the face at point blank range. Shooting them in the back. Even in the wild west this was considered a coward's action.
We share a need to take a break from the onslaught. A way to regain our humanity and witness kindness instead of cruelty.
In Yellowstone Park, which is my backyard, the buffalo can return to us our missing joy. They are especially happy right now.
We have warmer than usual weather and there is abundant wildlife to distract their natural predators. The snow is not three feet deep with a five inch impenetrable crust.
This makes for some happy buffalo.
And stops me from all my self absorbed and forthright citizen worries. It's great just to be among them.
