In the spirit of Hokusai, the famous Japanese woodblock artist, I will be doing watercolor views of Emigrant Peak. I have always loved Hokusai, but only now do I begin to understand his process.
I have the honor of teaching at Sage Lodge. Actually, my first students are today.
As an artist who drives the West and tramps the streets of the world looking for a place to set up and paint. I can tell you this is an amazing opportunity.
This is what you see as you walk out the door of the lodge.
It is not a one-off. You don't have to be a guest at Sage to take these classes. They are in two hour slots. Which for plein air watercolor on a 9"x12" paper is a good amount of time.
There is reverence in the rarified air of Emigrant Peak Cathedral.
Watch for more paintings.
