I ask myself quite often, "What can I do to really help effectively?"
For each of us the answer is quite different. We each have gifts and abilities. For me it is quite obvious. Painting is, in a sense, always revolutionary. Although covering a Bernie/AOC rally leaves absolutely no doubt whatsoever.
The logistics were serendipitous, and both fraught and alternately delightful aspects of achieving this goal.
I got a text to be in a bicycle brigade, parading through Missoula streets in support of the Fighting Oligarchy tour. When I combined the realization that there was nothing stopping me from painting the event and that Dan Bailey's would likely help out getting my bike rack and bike loaded, why then I put my dogs in the car and felt: "Nothing can stop me now!!"
I encourage everyone to ponder, "What is the thing that I am good at? What is the thing I personally can do to help us navigate our way out of this 'fine mess we've gotten ourselves into'?"
The second you do something with the goal of helping, the premiss changes. You are empowered and the sky is the limit.
