First Hint of Winter

There comes a moment every year where, if you have lived here more than one season, you know. It's coming. You can smell it, taste it, but more than that... it's in the air. Not exactly cold yet. We may have our hottest days still. But yes, we Montanans knew exactly what Ned Stark referred to when he warned. "Winter is coming."

The fraught scenario we are all living through in America, makes it all the more poignant this year.

A friend looked at this painting right after I painted it and quoted that phrase.

Yes Bridgett. It is. In the two weeks that passed between then and now, it doesn't even seem far away at all.

This is a 9"x12" watercolor.
