First Sunny Day

We may be a little bit behind here, because we had a couple of weeks of rain and snow. But today dawned sunny. In this time of drought, we always welcome the moisture.

Today you can almost hear a palpable sigh of relief. Humans, other animals, and plants are all smiling. It is warm, no wind to speak of, and everything is about to bloom.

It is literally one of those days that makes you rejoice to be alive.

I guess I am particularly keyed in because I have been on the prowl for almost a week to find a place to set up outside and paint. I saw much that inspired, but 34 degrees is just too cold for me. Add wind and it's a non starter.

Today, a beautiful warmth blanketed the whole world it seemed.

And none of us took it for granted. I saw old men mowing lawns without a shirt. Others sawing boards to make haste on a project. Two women bicycle enthusiasts stopped to watch me paint.

Cows were protective of their calves and magpies seemed to flit with joy.

All's right with the world, here in the shire. We have abundance to share, including this painting.
