In Livingston, we call this view of the Absarokas 'The Sleeping Giant'. Some days, when the snow blows just right, it is the most impressive grouping of mountains around. This is painted from the berm we built when that mild looking river rose so high it threatened to flood our town. You can tell by the drama in the clouds that this land is alive and in constant flux.
We are blessed in this seasonal renewal of light. The time when many religions have designated a holiday. Especially this year, I believe we need rebirth.
