Living in a windy city is an advantage when you put out flags.
It also blows away mosquitos and pollution and cools you off when it's hot.
On the down side, horses don't like it much and it also cools you off when it's cool. But after our overheating on Parade Day (the 2nd) and getting poured on the third, our windy temperate fourth made us smile.
The fourth of July in Livingston is rodeos, parades, art events, and seeing old friends. It's a great time of year here. The definition of "festive". Amidst the fun, I end up having conversations with folks about gratitude and finding ways to live up to the promise of America on her birthday.
