Cloudy Emigrant Peak

I couldn't resist putting up another watercolor.

In Montana, there is a weather truism I try to follow: Always go. Sometimes when you check the weather, all points come back in the negative: Cloudy. Windy. Unseasonably cold. Go anyway. When you get there, you may decide it really is too unpleasant to warrant persevering, but far more often the conditions are actually incredibly engaging and you'll have a wonderful experience.

Because I went anyway this painting exists.

It's early May, there's fresh snow and the clouds are dancing in the sky. The willows have come to life and are turning all their myriad colors. The birds are back.

It's great to be out in the middle of it all, painting.

Well, to be sure, full disclosure, I was in my car.
