When you live in the midst of majestic peaks, as we do here, sometimes it's easy to miss the simple beauty of the contours. A few days ago, when I started this painting, lenticular clouds were catching the sunset colors in a way that changed everything one could see. These particular hills seemed to emanate light. So much so that I was stopped dead in my tracks. Again, the way I see the world has shifted.
It is at once simple and complex.
