Who doesn't love roses? I always want to plant more but I get talked out of it. Roses have thorns. Oh my gawd, life has thorns, but it is also beautiful.
My life actually has a lot of thorns. Well it has had, somehow things seem to be smoother just lately. I think when I am painting profusely, things feel smoother. Just now because of a new gallery and the proprietor's unbridled enthusiasm for my work, things really are smoother. It is also this auction. An artist needs a plan. Maybe we all do. Stacey Abrams says, "Be sure to have a back up plan and a back up to your back up."
Well this rose bush is from a time when things were pretty smooth. You can tell because I planted lots of them. More than twenty years ago. This is the only bush left. Out of four. But it Is luxuriant. Gorgeous. It loves it here.
