The Bee's Knees

Sunflowers are my jam. So grateful for how they thrive in so many ways. These are my volunteers. They are a little haywire. My raised bed of asparagus and tomatoes is now dominated by these beauties. I may have to encourage them elsewhere. Next year. Right now they lift my spirits even when that is a heavy load.

Not only do the bees love them, one even posed for me(!), but chickadees are the right size and weight to eat the seeds. That makes me happy too.

If sunflowers can persevere, why not us?

Grit and happy beauty.
