The story of my pears is a good one.
It started when a friend picked one of the first three pears from her two year old tree, and handed it to me.
The rare, sweet, deliciousness was like a pact. As soon as, and whenever I could, I would plant these trees. A quarter century later, I have four trees in bloom at the same time. Three different varieties to ensure cross pollination. And I have seen bees!
The beauty of these blossoms also portends a good harvest.
Pear butter, pear leather, pear tatin. Freeze, can, & dry. I see pears in my future.
The subtext of this painting is abundance and sharing.
